An Introduction to Our Values

In a world where we are inundated with what we don’t like or don’t want to be about; when we are processing negativity on social media and in social distancing, we want to offer an alternative conversation. We at Leadership Vision want to spend some time considering what we are for. It is so tempting to be deficit-based, to obsess about weakness and try to shine up our deficiencies. Instead, we want to focus on the positive; what is right, beautiful, and strong about all of us.

Over the next five weeks, we’ll explore what we’re for through the lens of our company values. We’re going to dive into where our values came from, what they mean, how we are applying them both to ourselves, and our own team, and you’ll be able to hear some stories from our recent engagements with clients.

Our Team Values

At Leadership Vision, our values describe who we are, how we interpret the world around us, and how we show up to engagements even on, especially on, Zoom, and with each other. Our five values are:

Generosity

Generosity is an authentic recognition and thankfulness for what we have. Secondly, generosity is an action of giving a serving without the need for recognition. It’s an action out of our abundance, knowing that life is best lived when it is shared.

Courage

Courage is first a humble self acceptance of who we really are and how that is expressed in our world. Secondly, courage is acting from what is right and good about who we are for the benefit of bringing life, joy, and happiness to others. Courage is acting humanely toward another, with an absence of self-interest or self protection.

Wisdom

Wisdom is applying the lessons we have learned and are learning to ourselves and to others. Secondly, wisdom is not making the same mistakes over and over again, doing the same behaviors and expecting new results. Wisdom is knowing when to seek wisdom and ask for help.

Team

Team is an authentic connection with others that brings a true sense of belonging, meaning, and purpose to all involved. Team is a membership with one another and a partnership toward a common purpose. This team is both a noun and a verb.

Fun

Fun is an authentic expression of freedom, joy, and happiness, which can be experienced with others or with oneself. Fun is a shared experience of release and euphoria creating a deeper bond between people. Fun lightens our burdens. Fun creates memorable experiences. And fun moves us emotionally and bonds us closer relationally.
