A Summer Reflection: Part 1 of 3 (podcast)

Welcome to the Leadership Vision Podcast where we share our expertise in the discovery, practice, and implementation of a strengths-based approach to people, teams, and culture.

We’re at the tail end of summer here at Leadership Vision, and although we’ve been busy, we’re coming out of a season where things have been a bit more laid back. Schedules are less intense right now and so it seems like a perfect time to get geared up for the new demands and rigidity of the fall. For many, fall in some ways has the same vibe as early January; looking forward to new beginnings. It can be a time of reflection and a time of applying lessons learned to the rest of the year. We look forward to the fall, or Q4, as a finally opportunity to meet the audacious goals we set out to to achieve way back at the beginning of the year.

So with this in mind, our team wanted to take this opportunity to reflect a bit on the summer and see what we can apply from those lessons to finish our year strong. Over the next few weeks, I’m having conversations with three of our consultants; Steph, Carrie, and Sara. Together, we reflect on a what we have learned about ourselves personally and professional this summer, and try to apply those learnings to the rest of 2019.

You may remember a previous episode I did with Sara, The Mid-Year Team Health Check. In that episode, we discussed 10 questions we used to take the pulse of our team mid-year. It’s a great way to level-set and re-motivate yourself for this next season. We hope these next three episodes will be a great companion to Sara’s episode. Taken together, they can get you in the right frame of mind to stay at the top of your game.

So listen now as I chat with Steph Wahlund, our Senior Project Manager, in this first episode. Steph and I talk about rest and change among other things. I also share a somewhat goofy anecdote about Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease, and how that has lead me to think about the ways I spread positivity. After you’ve had a chance to reflect, share in the comments below, on social media, or send us a note here.
